Google Chrome will soon block mixed content….act now!

“What’s mixed content?” I hear you ask. Well, many of you will already be familiar with the little padlock symbols or ‘Not secure’ warnings when you are browsing websites that have a http rather than https web address. Well, did you know that you can still get these visual warnings when parts of a website are being served over http, even when the web address starts with https? This is because the website hasn’t been set up correctly, and components such as images and video may still be being served over the insecure http method.

As the article from wpbeginner linked below states, the popular web browser Google Chrome will start actively blocking these components as of February next year, and I am sure most other browsers will soon follow suit. So, now is the time to implement https on your website if you haven’t already, and if you have, make sure all your pages are being served correctly and that there are no mixed content warnings.
