Design@79 have been designing great websites for more than nine years. We believe that the best websites are those with sleek, clean lines that are easy to navigate and easy on the eye. We also use responsive web design to create websites that work on mobiles, tablets, and traditional desktop computers. Our Design Philosophy is one of simplicity, high standards and using the right tools for the job.
The Design Process
Creating a great web site takes time, and we want it to be an enjoyable experience from start to finish. It is vital that you, the client, is involved at every step, and we pride ourselves in making sure that this happens.
At the first meeting, we discuss what you want from your web site, who your target audience is, and what your objectives are. We identify what the web can do for your business, and how best to achieve this. At this stage, ‘design’ if the furthest thing from our minds.
Copy is the most important part of a website, and writing good copy is an art in itself. Your sites copy must be a reflection of you, your ethics and your goals. You know your business better than anyone else, which is why we ultimately prefer our clients to provide their own copy. We must also identify the keywords that will bind your site together and make it as visible as possible to your target audience.
We identify your competitors and look at their web sites. We look at other sites you like, and others you don’t. We identify the colours, navigation styles and design layouts that excite you. Together we visualise the site, always with your goals, objectives and your users in mind.
With this information secured, we return back to base to start putting together your site prototype. If you site is particularly complex, we wireframe the site layout and may very well provide a browser mock-up of a few pages. We ask you to review the prototype and provide feedback. We collaborate some more, iterate the prototype some more, and when you are happy, you give us the go ahead.
With the OK from you, we will organise the web hosting and secure the domain name. Once the copy is in place, we design and develop the web site. By now, we have all the information we need, so all we have to do is weave our magic and everything should fall into place.
We have another meeting to review the final product, and any tweaks or alterations are put in place. If necessary we will provide you with on site training on how to manipulate your sites content. A written manual will also be provided where appropriate….this may come in handy on the rare occasion you get stuck!!
That’s it!! The site is ready!! We go live, submit the site to the search engines, install analytics and open the bubbly!
But that isn’t the end. Over the next six months we will examine the analytical data, track your visitors and suggest ways in which the visibility of the site can be improved, making any changes necessary. We can also provide ongoing support past this period and can tailor a package to suit you and your pocket!!
